VUSCICHÈ
Vuscichè is an independent clothing and textile research practice based in Abruzzo, Italy.
Founded by designer and architect Diana Eugeni, Vuscichè works between clothing, inherited textiles and the rural landscape in which it is made.
The practice begins with what already exists: old cloth, recovered blankets, damasks, linen and hemp, deadstock and fragments whose previous lives remain visible. New materials enter the process when necessary, but time, use and transformation are never treated as defects to be erased.
Garments are developed and produced in small quantities in Abruzzo, through a network of local makers and workshops. Scale follows the material, rather than the other way around.
Vuscichè does not attempt to reconstruct the past.
It uses heritage as a living material — something that can be cut, worn, altered and carried forward.
APPROACH
We believe in things that retain traces.
In clothing that can age rather than expire.
In imperfection as information.
In local knowledge without nostalgia.
In technology without the mythology of progress.
In making less, and allowing matter to determine how much can be made.
The future does not need to look new.
